Steps:
Alternatively, press Show Thumbnails under the Canvas image to view all activity images.
Select any of the images to view as a full-size picture.
Steps:
Click Instructions on the left side panel of the open the main activity page.
Write a brief summary of the activity and what the activity is designed to teach along with the year the activity was added (ex. Project Summary: Learning about Non-Newtonian fluids. Year: 2022).
Once you are done writing a brief summary, click the Save button in the top right corner above the summary box to save any new changes.
Alternatively, click the Cancel button in the top right corner above the summary box to discard any new changes. Please note this action can not be reverted once cancelled.
The summary will now appear under Instructions on the activity page.
Steps:
Click Instructions on the left side panel of the open the main activity page.
Write any preparation tasks for the staff to prepare with prior to completion of the activity (ex. Make sure everyone has the attached powerpoint slides).
Once you are done writing preparation tasks, click the Save button in the top right corner above the preparation box to save any new changes.
Alternatively, click the Cancel button in the top right corner above the preparation box to discard any new changes. Please note this action can not be reverted once cancelled.
The preparation task will now appear under Instructions on the activity page.
Steps:
Choose on the following labels for the step: Theory, Step, Participant Tip, Instructor Advice, or Safety.
Theory may be selected if the content of the step is academic content to be discussed with the camp group or information required to be known to all prior to the activity.
Step may be selected if the step is part of step-by-step instructions required to be completed in seqeuntial order.
Participant Tip may be selected if the content of the step refers to information that may be shared with campers completing the activity for a successful outcome.
Instructor Advice may be selected if the content of the step refers to details that may potentially be useful to the instructor when teaching the campers or completing a demonstration of the activity.
Safety must be selected if the activity requires any dangerous materials or any risk-posing tools (ex. Do not consume the food colouring, cornstarch, or water).
Enter the details of the step. The mandatory fields are the Step Title and Step Description.
Once you are done writing the step, click the Save button in the top right corner above the step box to save any new changes.
Alternatively, click the Cancel button in the top right corner above the step box to discard any new changes. Please note this action can not be reverted once cancelled.
Additional steps may be added to create a comprehensible and detailed step-by-step guide for instructors to easily complete with there camp groups.
Steps:
Click Instructions on the left side panel of the open activity page.
Click Save to finish saving the new step edits.
Steps:
Click Instructions on the left side panel of the open activity page.
Click Yes, I am sure in the pop-up dialogue to confirm and permanently delete the step.
Alternatively, you may click Cancel to discard this action as it can not be reverted once deleted.
The step will now be deleted and no longer appear under the Instructions page for the activity.
Steps:
Select, drag and drop any steps to reorder the steps.
Once the steps are appropriately and chronologically ordered, click the Save button in the top right corner above the steps box to save any new changes.
Alternatively, click the Cancel button in the top right corner above the steps box to discard any new changes. Please note this action can not be reverted once cancelled.
Translating images allows for different images to be uploaded for the same step if the activity is in two or more languages. For example, if the OutStem system is set to standards in English and French, a seperate image may be attached to the English version of the step than the French version of the step.
Steps:
Choose one of the two image settings: Single Image or Translated Images.
Single Image ensures the same uploaded image will be used for all translations of the activity for the selected step.
Translated Images provides the option to upload a seperate image for various translations of the activity for the selected step.
These steps may be repeated for each single step to ensure images are attached appropriately for each translation.
Linking pre-existing activities to an individual steps allows for users to refer to a specific activity for more information and details prior to completing that step.
Steps:
Click Instructions on the left side panel of the open activity page.
Select an activity.
The activity will now successfuly be linked to the step. Additional activities may be linked if required. Activities may be linked to every step if required.
To scroll through all pictures attached with the activity, select the forward or backward button on the Canvas image.
Select the editing icon next to Summary.
Press the Add Preparation button below the summary.
Scroll down to under the preparation section on the activity Instructions page and select the button.
Scroll down and select the editing icon next to the step to make any neccesary edits.
Scroll down and select the delete icon next to the step you wish to be deleted.
To reorganize the order of steps created for an activity, select the button above all the steps in the top right corner.
Scroll down to the correct step and select the gears icon in the top right corner.
Press the Click to Edit button under the image icon of any step to upload an image.
Scroll down and select the editing icon next to the step to link a pre-existing activity.
Click on the Link an Activity search bar and enter at least two characters to start searching for activities.
Alternatively, when there are no results, click on the Link an Activity search bar and enter the activity reference code (ex. 9905 - Water Cycle Presentation).
