How to manage parents and child versions of the activity with and without a link

Creating version with link

Using the original activity to create a new version of the activity is such that minor modifications can be made. All feedback linked to the original activity will appear on all child versions.

Steps:

1. Click Versions on the left side panel of the open the main activity page.

2. Click the Add Version button in the top right corner of the page to add a new version extended from this activity.

3. Select Create Version under the Link Original Activity heading.

   • For activities that require minor modification: all feedback linked to the original activity will be shown on this copy.

A new version will now be created. This activity is linked to the previous 'parent activity' and be labelled as the 'child activity' as it is an extension of the original activity.

Creating version without link

Using the original activity to create a new version of the activity is such that major modifications can be made for different audience age groups of the activity. All feedback linked to the original activity will not appear on all child versions.

Steps:

1. Click Versions on the left side panel of the open the main activity page.

2. Click the Add Version button in the top right corner of the page to add a new version extended from this activity.
3. Select Create Version under the Do Not Link Copy heading.

   • This version is created as it requires major modifications: all feedack to the original activity will not be linked and shown on this copy.

A new version will now be created. This activity is only linked to the previous activity such that the original activity is the 'parent' and this copy is the 'child'.

Viewing parent activity

Steps:

1. Open an activity from the activities page.

2. Click Versions on the left side panel of the open the main activity page. If a parent activity exists, it will appear under Versions.

3. Select the numerical activity code next to the activity name to open the original parent activity.

The parent activity can now be viewed.

Viewing child activity

Steps:

1. Open an activity from the activities page.

2. Click Versions on the left side panel of the open the main activity page. If any child activities exists, it will appear under Versions.

3. Select the numerical activity code next to the activity name to open the child version of the activity.

The child activity can now be viewed.
